Pronouncing band names wrong
Feb 12, 2015, 12:59
It has been brought to my attention that I have been pronouncing Zun Zun Egui Zun Zun Egg why instead of Zun Zun Eg wee. I also pronounced Dungen Dung en instead of dungeon. I truly am very sorry.

How about you?

I've always been confused by The The. Is it Thee The, Thee Thee, The The or The Thee?

Well there's that Misfits offshoot Samhain which I always thought was 'sam-hane' but found out the correct pronunciation was 'shah-van'...

I think it's always been a matter of confusion especially on the radio.

I always used to call them (phonetically) 'Sun Oh' until I read that the 'O)))' is an unspoken symbol aping the Sunn amplifiers logo (and representing the proverbial sun).

I say The Beta Band as in "beeta" whereas John Cusack says "bay-ta" in High Fidelity, but presumably this is merely the American pronunciation of the word.

On a slightly different note (and I was only thinking of this, this morning), there used to be a local band knocking around called The Pedantics (never heard em, never wanted to) but I also never had the heart to say "Excuse me, I think you'll find you should be called The Pedants". Oh, the irony, oh the smart-arsery :-)

There's a long-running conceptual noise band from Japan called The Gerogerigegege whose name I won't even begin to try to pronounce. I think their fans (of which there seems to be a metric ton on the internet) just call them Gero.

Hol' up! What's tricky about The Flying Lizards? (Apologies in advance if you have a cleft lip or a speech impediment).
