I think this has drifted somewhat from the original intent of the thread but no matter. Most songs I don't like I can just filter out but there is the odd one or two that makes me want to go out and decapitate a puppy or something.

These Words - Natasha Beddingfield. Just a horrible, terrible thing. AAAAH! Begone vile sound-puke!

I Will Always Love You - Whitney Houston. Not so much the song...but the version, which is completely overwrought and appalling and horrific.

I Just Called to say I Love You - Motown genius cruelly inflicts one of the worst Butlins-band/karaoke/wedding-song songs upon the planet. Why, Stevie, why?!

I thought Fascist Groove Thang was brilliant myself(!) Forgot to mention the Human League were trying to be pop all along or at least after Adi Newton left...

Agreed, I almost mentioned that as an exception. I like the two instrumentals on that 7" too.

Last two both on my list, can't recall the Natasha Bedingfield one, but no doubt it's horrible.

It's truly awful...and it's trying to be clever too, which adds to the horror.

That's not even the original.

I know what you mean. It's as though they don't think it's dramatic enough so they sound like they're on the toilet with a bad case of constipation or something...

And Guns'n'Roses - "Sweet Child O Mine" and "November Rain" (and if you're going to do a video based around a funeral, make it Madness' version of "It Must Be Love", not po-faced W'Axl moping about).
