Yes, Image was indeed on the Fowler Street site next to the pork shop! It was an unusual shop that sold records on one side and plant pots on the other (!), run by a very amenable bloke who later sold up and joined the police force. The Commercial Street shop to which you refer was Jump, which I'm happy to report still trades from its relocated premises further up Fowler Street. Another one I forgot to mention before was Saville's on Imeary Street, that had records downstairs and guitars upstairs (I got my first acoustic there) before being taken over as Pete Edmond's Records in the late 70's. All part of my formative record-buying years.

I believe Paul from Beatdown bought up the remaining Steel Wheels stock before changing the name, but it seems Steel Wheels is back again... At the very least I have seen some new signs around, but I try not to stay long enough in the world of commerce to find out much.

The great mover of the universe will renew time, rain, blood, thirst, famine, steel wheels and disease. In the toon, a new signe seen." it is written in the stars btw welcome to the forum, I'm sure someone less apocalyptic than I will offer you some refreshments and a plate of jaffa cakes
