If he had done a bit of the old LSD like his heroes back in the 60s rather than playing the hard man, then he could have progressed and grown up a bit. As for his brother Noel.. I have a bit of hope for him cus he *is* a clever man and can write the odd good song now and again. ANYWAY WHO AM i TO slag these people off, my music and my bands didn't ever come to much in the end fer all my years of plugging away at it. Tiz easy to be a critic not so easy to be a rock star. A good song is a good song. Tiz all about catching the moment & being lucky enough to have that moment recorded properly. As for the world of pop ... I think I will leave that for the teenagers. 8o) good point charlie,I really liked the first 2 Oasis records but since then they've recycled the same old thing with diminihing returns Quite an achievement, considering all the ideas on their first two alnbums were recycled from other bands' in the first place. Oasis are what the Beatles would have sounded like if Ringo Starr had been the main songwriting force rather than Lennon/McCartney/Harrison. I know taking a pop at Oasis is a fish/barrel scenario but the early stuff has a certain elan IMHO, some nice b-sides too, the trouble with wearing your Beatles heart so openly on your sleeve is your obviously going to fall short sooner or later,I can think of worse people to rip off than the Beatles but they then failed to show the imagination to rip off anyone else of equal stature.

I quite like Gaga. I think Just Dance & especially Poker Face are good pop singles and she gives good popstar in an increasingly blanded out and homogenised world. And I far prefer her doing her thing with a bit of gusto and colour than the deluge of dullard land-fill indie schmindie stage-school 'proper' bands the NME was selling in the last few years.

Come on dude. Do you really want a world where people worship The Kooks or Scouting For Girls? Huh? Liam Gallagher was cool. But then he took about 30 seconds to paint himself into a corner, afraid of being seein to be 'soft' or 'weird' and turned into a proper plank and fucked up Oasis doing it. I agree he probably should've done better drugs. But you get the impression that mind-exapansion is pretty low on his agenda. I hope now that Noel is free of the pub-rock shackles he goes on to do more interesting things
