I recommend it too. It really filled in loads of info and context for me of the Roxy Music years which I was really ignorant of. I find it hilarious that throughout the book whenever they want some sort of negative comment about Eno, up pops Gaving Bryars to slag him off. It gets silly in the end. The interview with him that all the quotes are taken from must be hilariously bitchy. If you already know a lot about Eno there's still a few nuggets of info in there. It does run out of steam when covering the last 20 years though. The author just resorts to "Then he did this album (...) and then this installation (...) before doing this bit of production work. The End."

I enjoyed it though I was pissed with a mate watching it so don't remember the whole thing and some of it got talked over. As with all these things, it was more of use to anyone with a passing interest rather than a fanboy like me. Nicely done though. I liked the fact that he had the humilty to refuse to take credit for inventing ambient music, saying that he just named something that he and others were already doing. I thought changing the Arena title music from 'Another Green World' to 'Here Come The Warm Jets' was a bit of an overly arch touch.

Yeah, i agree. he seemed like a nice bloke I thought. When he talked about lack of melody, beat etc etc and 1/1 was playing I did think 'Morton Feldman' (and I ain't being clever there - I only heard of him about three years ago) - but then Eno said something like 'alright son, calm down. I didn't invent it, I just called it something'. Nice one.
Only watched half of it so far but very enjoyable.
