Can I just say I've always thought the track "Heroes" was vastly overrated - OK then, I've said it.

For a long time I thought Heroes was UNDER-RATED!

I remember hearing it on Marc and thinking how amazing it was and then it stalls at something like 24 in the charts. WTF?!!

It seemed to be a few years before it truly got the recognition it deserves.

Yeah, I've said it before, but I think DB had a pretty good 90's.

Hours is *really* good as well.

That's a box set mate ;-)

'Heroes' to me is one of those tracks that only ever worked as the studio cut on the album. It never works as a live track or cover version or whatever - the production and ambience of the album track is unique. Any live versions I've heard have been poor and completely at loss with the original.

Good point Clarky, although I did enjoy him doing it on Jools' 'Later' once- although I was watching through one eye with a hazy head

I seem to remember a fine sounding geetar solo from Uncle Fester Gabrels

"Also picked up a tape of Metal Machine Music.

...Tape a bit slack though"

....does it sound any better? ;-)

If it's good enough for Eno/ Fripp to rerelease No Pussyfooting with speeded versions then i can't see why sour faced Reed can't join in the fun!
