What is the full track listing. I've got the Promo without booklet just a custom sleeve. I want to know if it's got extra tracks not on the promo...to make it worth a purchase...

CD1 is the same as the original CD issue - 18 tracks, no Uptight, no Safesurfer fake fade and (quickly playing a few tracks side by side in itunes) exactly the same sound as the previous CD. No remastering (despite what it says in the new liner notes) or even any increase in volume - but this is probably a good thing as there was nothing wrong with the original CD anyway.

CD2 tracks (mentioned previously but):
1. Easty Risin'
2. Ravebury Stones
3. Love L.U.V.
4. Dragonfly
5. Heed: Of Penetration and the City-Dweller
6. Bring Cherhill Down (Vocal)
7. Safesurfer (7" version)
8. If You Loved Me at All (7" version)
9. Butterfly E
10. Straw Dogs
11. Anyway at All

I didn't have most of CD2 (apart from the Love L.U.V. 12") so it was fun to hear. The early 90s remixes have a certain dated charm about them and are not as awful as mentioned elsewhere, if you ask me. The Safesurfer 7" is great, Dragonfly is a classic...but the crime here is including Ravebury Stones, not because it's bad (cos it ain't) but simply because it's the last track from Rite but with a (much) earlier fade. That's 11 and a half minutes that could have been given over to the missing b-sides. Or Uptight. Anyway...

Oh and it is annoying about the booklet. And did they ever fix the sound on the 'deluxe' Jehovahkill? I could go on...

Thanks for the Info, this now makes perfect sense compared to earlier in the thread when we were discussing how they would fit all the tracks onto the extra disk. That's the tracklisting on my promo. Now do I need to shell out for a f**cked up booklet?? Probs but I'm not in any rush for it.

If it would be of interest, i could scan the booklet from the original release cd. let me know.

^ The top track is You from the original release.

The bottom one is You from the new release.

The Deluxe version *is* slightly louder.

I stand corrected - there is a new mastering credit in the sleeve notes - but to my humble ears it sounds exactly the same.

Now, when are they gonna release the original mono versions of all the Cope albums...

I for one won't be buying this reissue anytime soon. This is a piss poor reissue There is nothing new I don't already have. I am anoyed they have messed up the booklet. I am anoyed that they have left tracks off Uptight, Bsides, The Safesufer full version with fade at the end , (avaliable on Floored Genius).I have not heard the new version but I beleive that the Full version of Head as featured on the Head Cd single is missing, with the added 40 odd secs at end, the piano and vocal "I can feel my head" bit.

If they had done a decent job may be. In my opinion it is another attempt by the Record Company Island/ Universal to fleece us for more money. If I want to listen to tracks from the Peggy period, then I am more than happy to listen to the originals, rather than waiste my money on this!

they seem to have fooked up on this one! But then again nothing new on that score! as for the comment that said ...... You know you're gonna buy it anyway so why complain about it ...... all I can say is Citizensmurf
..... I watch what you say, the sheep will buy it but the wise would rather spend their money on something worth buying!

so where is the re-issue of MNU!

oooooooh yes...... Julian hates this release so everyone here hates it too!

Yeah I can't help feeling that folk are willing to slag this one off because the great man has spoken against it.

I think it's a great album - certainly better than quite a number of releases since.

MNU has it's supporters here and they've never been reticent to say so.

The converse is true - there are people who post here who will claim that MNU is fantatic because Julian doesn't rate it.

MNU is also woeful in comparison to stuff that came later.

At the record company meeting
On their hands - a dead star
And oh, the plans they weave
And oh, the sickening greed

At the record company party
On their hands - a dead star
The sycophantic slags all say :
"I knew him first, and I knew him well"

Re-issue ! Re-package ! Re-package !
Re-evaluate the songs
Double-pack with a photograph
Extra Track (and a tacky badge)

A-list, playlist
"Please them , please them !"
"Please them !"
(sadly, THIS was your life)

But you could have said no
If you'd wanted to
You could have said no
If you'd wanted to

BPI, MTV, BBC
"Please them ! Please them !"
(sadly this was your life)

But you could have said no
If you'd wanted to
You could have walked away
...Couldn't you ?

I touched you at the soundcheck
You had no real way of knowing
In my heart I begged "Take me with you ...
I don't care where you're going..."

But to you I was faceless
I was fawning, I was boring
Just a child from those ugly new houses
Who could never begin to know

Who could never really know
Oh ...

Best of ! Most of !
Satiate the need
Slip them into different sleeves !
Buy both, and feel deceived

Climber - new entry, re-entry
World tour ! ("media whore")
"Please the Press in Belgium !"
(THIS was your life...)

And when it fails to recoup ?
Well, maybe :
You just haven't earned it yet, baby

I walked a pace behind you at the soundcheck
You're just the same as I am
What makes most people feel happy
Leads us headlong into harm

So, in my bedroom in those 'ugly new houses'
I danced my legs down to the knees
But me and my 'true love'
Will never meet again ...

At the record company meeting
On their hands - at last ! - a dead star !
But they can never taint you in my eyes
No, they can never touch you now

No, they cannot hurt you, my darling
They cannot touch you now
But me and my 'true love'
Will never meet again

I've loved it since it came out. You know, when Julian was bigging it up! Just cos he changed his mind (or he was lying at the time!) doesn't mean I have to change mine.

Regardless of whether it's better or worse than what came out later, 'woeful' seems a rather ill-judged word IMO.

I certainly prefer it to any Brain Donor albums, though as that is operating outside of my sphere (apart from the more Stooge-ish moments) I guess that's only to be expected.

Less obviously I also think it's better than Autogeddon, Dark Orgasm and Black Sheep KMSA LP, though I'm not suggesting that they are without merit!

i like MNU and always have! Its not fair to rate it against peggy or jehovah and its a lot better than some of the more recent releases. I am lucky enough to have one of the few green sleeve spanish copies that got through! It looks great in green.......
