Starcastle were definitely prog-pop heavily Yes influenced.

Kansas, Styx and Boston would of the same ilk, prog-pop.

Upcoming Hard rock at that time would have been Starz, Van Halen, Riot, Gods, , etc

Of course after Nwobhm, US bands would be Megadeath, Metallica, Metal Church, Armored Saint, Anthrax, Wasp, Queennsryche...

Some Motorhead influenced, some Priest/Maiden influenced

Isn't the world a strange place ...

... I'm reading a thread, reminiscing about NWOBHM from the late 70's/Early 80's, listening to Thick As A Brick by Jethro Tull from 1972, and it's 2008 ...

Just an observation.

I have Citadel by Starcastle which is so Yes-lite it's hilarious. I find it extremely enjoyable even down to the Brothers Hildebrandt sleeve. It's so shameless.

The cut out bin, that brings back happy memories, 99p and if you didn't like it, as often you didn't, you could get 50p for it or an exchange at the record shop on the other side of town
