They're probably both over-rated, but I'd say Clapton more so. I enjoyed his stuff with Cream - especially on Live Vol. 1 - but haven't yet heard anything else in his career that I thought justified any worship.
Also Lenny Kravitz... I liked some of his old stuff, but 'the new Hendrix'? You gotta be kidding! He was only a rhythm guitarist, too, as far as I could tell.
I think Keith Richards is over-rated, too. Sure the guy's cool but he's nothing special on the guitar.

ok, my vote goes to Robert Cray

would love to see him & Norman Beaker trade licks in a blues bar some time
