Wasn't Alice's band consistently fluctuating? Didn't he like to chop and change?

He's right, of course. When a band has gone their course that really should be it. The musicians should then either move on to other things - getting fresh inspiration from working with other muzos, or knock it on the head.

Generally.

However, there are some that were just so special that I really like to have the priviledge of being in the presence of, just one more time.

That was Pete Wylie's brother's band, wasn't it? Saw 'em support The Fall many moons ago.

Magazine.

It's have to be the bloke who replaced McGeoch, mind. Though he did a very good job of copying JM's style on Play to be fair. I was listening to it a few years ago and completely forgot it wasn't JM on it.

Ooh, yes! Magazine. Another brilliant that I managed to miss. Loads of my college mates all saw them on various visits to Sheffield while I was up there. I was so jealous.

I often watch for the soundtrack composer in the end credits and find names that I've never heard of. I think in many cases the band must be an alias.

Still the bunch who did 'The Wicker Man' must be worth a Google search, at least. Maybe find individual members, and their history?
