Anyone recommend this, it seems a bit pricey.

I don't have this, or anything after (and including) Phantasmagoria, but I have seen it and I suppose it's really for completeists, since it includes Peel Sessions (which would be appealing) and other edits, which I wouldn't care too much about. It IS expensive though. Out of all The Damned albums I play Machine Gun Etiquette the most. And Strawberries. And The Black Album. Oh hell, I love em all ;-) If you decide to get it, let us know here. I am quite curious about it.

Yeah, it is expensive for 3 discs isn't it. Not bought that, but I did get their Grave Disorder LP from a few years ago, which found Sensible back in the ranks. It's almost unexpectly good IMO, being somewhere between MGE & The Black Album. And the (then) new stuff sounded great when I saw them live a few years back. My fave is still the first though. Love it!!

My first two "Punk" purchases were The Damnned's "Neat Neat Neat" no Pic-Sleeve : ( and the Pistols "God Save The Queen" a super thick very sturdy pressing that i played the heck out of and it was still fine. Picked up "Damned Damned Damned" on import , alas it was not the misprint back cover with Eddie & The Hot Rods. Now i have a cd reissue of "DDD", and am thinking about getting a vinyl re-ish. Are the Peel Sessions available as a stand alone disc ?

Yes, tracklisting here... http://www.hmv.co.uk/hmvweb/displayProductDetails.do?ctx=280;-1;-1;-1&sku=488393 though it comes with the following disclaimer... 'audiophiles may detect a loss of sound quality on tracks 10-13. That's because the original master tapes 'went missing' and all we could find was a copy that Rat made when they were first broadcast. The band thought you would still like to hear them. As Peelie said 'there may be a bit of surface noise here - but life itself is not without surface noise". Still, a shame cos that 1979 session was probably my fave session of theirs.

The title came from the Stiff records advertising campaign of the LP. DDD 'Play it at your sister' not one of their better copywriting examples.

I have it. I did purchase it very cheap a few years back. Comes in a box containing a book with the story of the early years, press articles, biogs, gigs and lots of photos; a double cd in jewel case and single cd in paper sleeve. The collection is jam packed with material from 1976 - 78, i.e. the Stiff record period before they split up and reformed to sign up with Chiswick and Machine Gun Etiquete, Black Album then Strawberries. The double cd contains the first two albums "Damned Damned Damned" and "Music For Pleasure", all the singles, early demo, two Peel Sessions and BBC In Concert. The third cd is of an early gig. Some titles have multiple versions (there are 4 versions of New Rose). My only complaint if that the running order is not like that of each of the albums e.g. New Rose and Neat Neat Neat singles before album only tracks etc ... It is nice to hear DDD in the running order that it appears on vinyl (this was one of my first LPs - X-mas 1979, age 12, along with Metal Box!) I think the DDD deluxe might contain a lot of the same stuff bar Music For Pleasure if you are not too fussed about that (it is a weak album) - that maybe an alternative?

Exactly, the DDD deluxe edition includes all that stuff except for "Music For Pleasure". First CD is the album in its original running order, second CD all the demos, b-sides, Peel sessions, etc. and the third one is a 1976 gig at the 100 Club.
