Ever seen the original British version of The Office? That's set in Slough... You'd better decide quickly though, with a population now over 60 million its flling up fast.

Slough? Swindon? BWAHAHAHAAAA! It depends what you're after, really. I'd generally (IME) say that people in the north are more friendly and more down to earth. They also generally have nicer accents. (IMO) However, I'd like to live in Cornwall for the beaches and the ancient sites. But nobody ever gigs in Cornwall. Birmingham is very central, which makes it easier to get everywhere, but that's about all it has going for it. (IMO) My only advice is to avoid London.

If I had the choice it would be Cornwall or Dorset or Devon. It's bleak and cold oop North...and they speak funny (;-P to amazon).

AND the restaurants are the best in the UK, three michelin starred within 1/2 hr of my place.....went to Jamie Oliver's place on Monday though and it was CRAP! and the wurzels played in the next village in the summer!
