Joss Stone is just yet another example of the current crisis in pop -- she's recycling sounds from decades past, because it's "the end of history" or somesuch and basically no one can think of anything NEW to do.
Same goes for White Stripes, Strokes, Franz Ferdinand, Scissor Sisters, The Darkness, on and on . . . .
The postmodern serpent's tail is well down it's throat and soon it's gonna disappear entirely due to the collapse of the recording industry from digital distribution technology, and the fragmentation of the "mass audience" by demographic-driven marketing and still more technology (who needs radio when you have an iPod?)
Then what happens next, I dunno!
