Re: Vocals that put me off the music

Always wished I could find a heavy band with a si9nger in the late 80s. Was reminded of this today by reading a review of Neurosis' new cd. Pretty good stuff they used to do nice heavy droney but all vocals were shouty.
Most of the Death/Doom stuff I heard would've been better if bands had singers instead of growlers too. But it goers against the trend so can't be dione apparently.

Michael Gerrard's seems too forced too, haven't heard Guy Kyser's in a while but I think that's more weird than bad.
Couldn't stand the geezer from Smashing Pumpkins vocals on the otherwise ok Gish, that was several years back, before they made it. Possibly wouldn't like it at all now.

I've only just got to accepting the geezer from Caravan/Hatfield and The North's reedy vocal. Didn't like it much on Land of gRey and Pionk.
Got it in my ear now from H&TN and it's ok.
