Don't mean to sound patronising to anyone, and I could easily get into a fray regarding lots of stuff, but popular music has always been shite or funny or amusing or rocking or formulaic or obtuse, or whatever. It certainly won't be world changing until it's world changing, if ever. Until then, what's the point in getting steamed up about some ageing hairies making rock music with a bit of glam and fun? I guess that covers a lot of us here ;-)
I would have scrawled the Darkness on my pencil case along with Wishbone Ash, Motorhead, Hawkwind, etc etc when I was at school, why complain that kids can still do that? Let the kids argue over who is the best band this month, that's their domain ;-)

Honestly, this forum does my head in sometimes...
PS I'm not particularly taken with The Darkness and I think the first Montrose album is fine. I always did. I think the others are a bit shite though.
