Yeah I was bummed they put the Doors and Iron Butterfly on the list. They were right about those no-talents ICP though....

Fairy nuff though there are a couple of things on that list I quite like. Still, who cares? I have to admit; I still snigger like an emotionally stunted retard whenever I see the name "The Hooters". Hee hee hee. "Hooters" snark!

Well, I was disappointed to see The Doors in there, different strokes, I suppose. It may just be the whole Doors mythos, but I always thought that Morrison's attitude to performing and stuff was a pretty cool act of totemic posession. Even if it was just because he was fucked up on booze and drugs at the time. However, it's good to see Rick Wakeman getting more of the recognition he deserves. I'm ashamed to admit to listening to The Strawbs and Magna Carta quite a lot recently. On The Strawbs he seems quite lo-key, actually augmenting the sound, while on his Magna Carta guest spots he tries to completely dominate the whole thing and grates on my nerves. I imagine him smirking like Harry Enfield's Tory Boy as he plays one of his wanky solos and just want to go *slap* him in his smug chops. Fuming Zos np. Ya Ho Wa 13 - I'm Gonna Take you Home

How could they leave of stuff like Linkin Park or Evanescence or whatever they're called, they're pants of ther first order. ELO should be on there along with those terrible German metal freaks The Scorpions too. I remember getting home late from clubbing one night pisssed/tripped/ripped out of my skull and had to changed the channel on TV when there was a bloody Scorpions documentary on, i still couldn't stomach em', even when i was off my face. Ditto Warlock, some terrible parochial metal band. And Leather Nun, and Skeletal Family and Christian Death, and... Maybe we should compile our own 'alternate' 50 worst.

could point out that at least the first lps by ELO and the Scorpions are pretty tasty. Dunno how soon after that eiither band lost it. Was wondering if ELO II was worth a check and Fly To the Rainbow by The scorpions. Stevo

Disappointed they couldn't find room for Classix Nouveau or A Flock of Seagulls... Was the list drawn up from a reader poll or was it the invention of some hack?

You don't even like Leather Nun's first e.p.? Not even "No Rules", which made punk more threatening than it usually was? I know they became a shitty disco/cock-rock band later.

I forgot I was pissed that Japan were mentioned too. Dave Sylvian's current stuff is prog-wank, of course, but how can one not be moved by "Ghosts in my Life"?
