At least they didn't burn the White House down, that would've been worse. Oh.

The US Capitol protest certainly wasn't any worse than the "mostly peaceful" demonstrations we've seen in several US cities this past year, and was on par with recent political protests in France, Hong Kong, Belarus, Serbia, and Venezuela. Occupying government buildings is a standard political tactic, going back to storming the Bastille. It is of course tragic that an unarmed woman was shot, and that she's now being slandered as a "domestic terrorist."

The real danger now is that the government and the media will use this incident to justify even further censorship. Alas, they already are:

Well whoop-de-do. I don't care, I'm just glad when Trump will be gone.

Yes, collateral damage, it was bizarre to watch on live news in the UK. I wonder if the woman will ever be named. And the three people who died in 'medical emergencies'. President Trump made his statement condemning the protestors with the air of someone who has a gun pointed at him.
He knows now he has lost every which way - my biggest objections to him are that he is a white supremacist and climate change denier. Although unlike many presidents before him, he didn't manage to start a war - to the best of my knowledge.

Edited.

Trump sucked. Only thing he did was cause strife on people whose only crime was wanting to live in America.

I guess the good thing about Trump was that he made me realize there really isn't a 'deep state', and even so a 'deep state' would be preferable to this ultra-rightist fiasco that dimwitted hucksters voted for.

She has been named as Ashli Babbitt, ex-services, Q-Anon fanatic who thought the attack was Q's prophesised 'The Storm'. Sure, she was innocent, having had her brain warped by ridiculous 4chan conspiracy theories. And yeah, Trump didn't actively 'start' any foreign wars, but he sure as hell tried to start one in his own country. And not for the right reasons. I'm not confident that Biden will be an effective catalyst for healing and progress, but I can't imagine he could do as much damage as the solipsistic, damaged child Trump did.

Funny that the stupid woman was holding a 'Don't Tread on Me' sign and got tread upon. Poetic justice! https://www.rawstory.com/rosanne-boyland-capitol/?fbclid=IwAR0JfXZZFL8gxuDQy2JvQVlnmIYDDp4T-YRKs3of_q2fRkino1DaaRiJcu4

The 'I Got Maced' woman is an interesting example of the mentality of those who stormed the Capitol. It would appear that there was no mace involved but she was carrying an onion in a towel which she used to rub her eyes. Look closely right at the beginning and you can clearly see it.

The musical remix is great fun and hopefully will help towards making her a figure of ridicule for many years to come.
