It’s been a great privilege to serve Penrith and The Border for the last ten years, so it is with sadness that I am announcing that I will be standing down at the next election, and that I have also resigned from the Conservative Party.

A party that chooses to lose Rory Stewart, Ken Clarke, Dominic Grieve, and Sam Gyimah in order to pacify Mark Francois, Desmond Swayne, Marcus Fysh, and Andrew Bridgen will find itself in a whole heap of trouble ultimately. It really becomes just a matter of "when", not "if".

Nice to see Jo Swinson in full purple dress in Parliament the other day. Reminds me of 1994 and archaeology A-Levels with Mr Smallwood, who Boris looks and sounds like the illegitimate offspring of.

There we were discussing the hounding of mammoths off cliffs, with one staunch Labour supporter in the class being being roundly mocked:

Boris/Mr Smallwood: "Ah yes, the Red Flag of Labour slowly becoming more purple by the day."

Flash Forward 2058 and lots of commemorative fifty pence pieces discovered on a coastal fossil walk.

Happisburgh days!

((it's "Serf pens hex, oaf nob fondler jailed"))

Ah, sorry, thanks Jesus. I knew you were the way and the light and everything.

((and I am also not a nonce, stop anagramming everything pretending everybody else is lost for words like you beat them in Scrabble like that Ludacris lyric - look at how many albums Ludacris has released, have you recorded and released a rap album? No you haven't, you just act all Grant Schapps and come up with stupid names for non-existent creative endeavours like the female rapper "KRML" and her album "Fannygram". Who's going to fill that role?))

Yes I can see why far-right bloggers dislike This Week Tonight, Jesus. Actually I've come up with this ace new bit of tech to compete with Grammerly called "Cockneyly" - "it sucks all the learning out of your keyboard then calls you a cunt", how do you make of that Lord Jesus pipe?

Speaking of racism, it's hard to go out for a pint in Norwich in Bon Jovi These Days because at some point there'll be a Evening Standard taken over by Saudi business interests couple where the man walks past and calls you a prick whilst holding his own baby as a human shield with the whiff glowering at you like a protoincommunicativetesttube Leadsom.

Evil times for people over forty.
