I've given up reading the paper apart from occasionally at the weekend, I used to be glued to it. I do have 'today' on in the car, and it seems like every day there's someone from some industry or other explaining how brexit is going to be a royal pain in their arse to them, logistically, legislation-wise or whatever. (Don't worry brexiteers, there are plenty of apologists too to give you your balance of opinion).

have a nice christmas, I hope you feel rested and have fun

Thanks. You too.
I have family coming. They include one barmy, one grumpy, one old and one opinionated. So a nice traditional family Xmas.

Brian Cox Retweeted Jim Pickard

This is not good enough. We are being led over a cliff by a pathetic bunch of absolute incompetents. David Davis is upset that the EU actually listened to something he said. With that, back to science. Mars is fascinating. I’ll tell you why I’m learning about it ASAP :-)

Brian Cox added,

@PickardJE
Commission spokesman all deadpan just now: "We in the European Commission we are surprised that the United Kingdom is surprised that we are preparing for a scenario announced by the UK government itself."

So dispiriting is this, I wasn't going to comment on again. Here we are though ... Swindon, unlike most of the smaller market towns in Wiltshire, probably has more in common with the West Midlands. Large multicultural population including a firmly established Polish community, two car factories, one of which is Honda - now under threat because of Brexit. How was this writing never writ large on any wall.

"How was this writing never writ large on any wall."

Because about 4 Tory politicians thought they had a shot at being PM that way.
The economists CERTAINLY said what would happen but they didn't have a bus and who wants to listen to them?

The people of Swindon would do well to go up to Longbridge where the shattering effect of a missing car factory is on display (although you can still see front doors painted in Allegro green, which is nice. ;)
