Hunt masters see a big Tory majority as an opportunity to repeal the Hunting Act:

Apparently Mr and Mrs May are on the One Show tomorrow evening as a double act. Will no doubt come across as wholesome reliable respectability that can be trusted. Makes me sick.

So much for the stuff about voting Tory we've seen here. As well as the headline crap it will enable them to deliver lots of additional miscellaneous crap, all of it strong and stable.

The unelected Tory members of the Lords will be central to the re-introduction of recreational sadism, enabled by a huge democratic mandate elsewhere, from voters who are mostly anti-hunting - go figure. The late Lord Avebury didn't think much of them (mostly “piss and wind”) and said the only three subjects guaranteed to get a full chamber were: “Lords reform, fox hunting and buggery”.

To confirm, May is "personally in favour of fox hunting":

"This is a situation on which individuals will have one view or the other, either pro or against."
Yes, 84% against.

On which basis it would be difficult to for an MP who represents the wishes of their constituents to vote to do anything other than keep the ban.

After the last election, my MP refused to rule out voting to repeal the Act. Possibly coincidentally a number of his more affluent donors/supporters were in favour of repeal.

Incidentally, as Stephen Bush in the New Statesman pointed out, foxes can already be shot so when May says she wants to “bring back fox-hunting” what she is actually saying is “I think you should be able to kill foxes by getting dogs to rip them limb from limb”.

That's what the 16% actually want and are going to be given.

Maybe we should have a referendum on it? :)

Sorry, but as much as I loathe fox hunting as well as the next decent person would, it is Manky Mancroft that is urging the hunt masters on and not the Hunt Masters themselves as you incorrectly claim.
Some may do some may not, but let's have it right to start with instead of trying to score points unfairly...Don't jump the gun, that's all I'm saying!

'The email, sent to hunts across the country by Tory peer Lord Mancroft, urges hunt masters to “mobilise supporters” and campaign for pro-hunting Tories in marginal seats'.
