Good for you. As it goes I will be voting Lib Dem for our best hope of a non-Tory MP, and a return of the excellent constituency MP we had until 2015. Our current Tory MP is one of the ones being investigated for election fraud. http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/busted-29-tories-how-broke-7467603

"Ukip is effectively in power. We are about to find out just how catastrophically unhelpful its programme really is." http://www.politics.co.uk/blogs/2017/05/05/ukip-aren-t-dead-they-re-in-charge

Yes, any thoughtful Tory voter ought to reflect that nearly 4 million UKIP voters are now voting Tory and X% of them are ugly racists.

Worth reading the long article linked by ryaner over on TMA, then asking yourself why policies seem to be absent from the debate, at least from the right: "Martin Moore of King’s College, London, pointed out that elections were a newly fashionable tool for would-be authoritarian states. “Look at Erdo?an in Turkey. What Theresa May is doing is quite anti-democratic in a way. It’s about enhancing her power very deliberately. It’s not about a battle of policy between two parties.” This is Britain in 2017. A Britain that increasingly looks like a “managed” democracy. Paid for a US billionaire. Using military-style technology. Delivered by Facebook. And enabled by us. If we let this referendum result stand, we are giving it our implicit consent. This isn’t about Remain or Leave. It goes far beyond party politics. It’s about the first step into a brave, new, increasingly undemocratic world." https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2017/may/07/the-great-british-brexit-robbery-hijacked-democracy?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other

Agree it was a train wreck of an interview but the idea is a good one, we need an increased and improved Police Force. Where I live the city centre has become a place so intimidating for many people that they won't go there, which then affects the local economy. One former Police Super who I was talking to a short while ago called it a "lawless town" due to the fact there's no Police presence. The idea is a good idea, I'm not going to say it's a bad policy just because the person who suggested it garbled the message. If we all do that then we truly deserve the shit storm that's heading our way!

Bravo. No Anglo Saxon right wing populism for them.

Excellent. Not sure what to make of Macron, but a resounding rejection of the far right is the first welcome result for a while. Farage is already complaining, but she lost, get over it, non?

It's not just Farage that will be moaning. Macron thinks Brexit is a “crime” which will leave the UK facing “servitude” so he's obviously a remoaner who "needs to get over it" ....

Obviously doesn't like democracy if he's against brexit! Lets see what happens over there. Admittedly don't know much about him but we do seem to (hopefully) be seeing a decline in the right wing extremist parties
