Totally agree.
It is beyond belief that people think they have some sort of ancient rite to disturb these sites by moving stones and leaving detritus of any type (including the votive crap so often seen).
Don't be gullible, this isn't some conspiracy against people visiting them, this is lazy, selfish, thoughtless toerags who really do not give a damn about other people and their enjoyment of our ancient history.

I am getting off my high horse now :)
