Roman Ridge under threat again

Just seen a report online from the Sheffield Star - sorry can't do link - that once again developers are trying to build on part of this below Wincobank hillfort. The area under threat is off Sandstone Road, where 22 houses are planned. The Ridge is now believed to be a tribal boundary built by the Brigantes and runs for 27km from Lady's Bridge to Mexborough, with gaps due to farming and housing predation. As Moss has observed elsewhere this should be classified as nationally important. NB Due to length it hasn't had a TMA site ref so I'm going to add one on a stretch which is undisturbed. Will try to add some pix asap.
