Always a fascinating place......

"The project focuses on the landscape surrounding Wales’ famous Neolithic passage tomb. During the last two years we have built up a picture that includes a Late Neolithic / Bronze Age cairn, along with several rock art panels situated close by, making a case for a complex multi-period landscape. We return to continue to work in the vicinity, looking further at a possible Neolithic causewayed enclosure and ring-ditch in the same area."

I went to the Archaeology Open Day last year and spoke with Adam Stanford and had a tour of the excavation with archaeologist Rhys Mwyn. He took a group of us across the fields to see one of the newly discovered cup marks, which was much appreciated.

I see that this year's open day is on Saturday 17th of June.

Magical place, love it when landscapes begin to get a sense of a 'holistic presence' and a better understanding happens. Something about Avebury coming up.
