Hi AC, thanks for the link. Amidst the depressingly familiar theme, I'm pleased to see a number of govt departments and agencies showing resistance (but another reason for the Tories to remove the civil service's impartiality though, unfortunately).

I'm with you all the way on this Moss. I too have nothing but admiration for our eco warriors but how often do they win? Not often, if at all. Same goes for other long running protests - one near my home town involving land nearby Coate Water Country Park. The fight went on for years with small victories and 'false dawns' but in the end the Great God Money won out. All previous rulings overturned by the Secretary of State including the wishes of around 55,000 people who signed a petition. Now 'posh' detached properties are to be built there (no more arsing about talk of affordability). The only real option left is the ballot box, we should be working to make sure the next government really does represent the majority of the people. (Great photos btw)

Town councils, planners and developers will pocket the cash as estates get built on once protected land. It's a sad reality that a vast amount of these planned developements will turn into sink estates with all the related social and environmental problems.
