"soft suvverner?"

Watch it dude! That way lies all manner of tribulation ;-)

You'll end up with competitions to see who can spend winter solstice night on top of ben nevis with no sleeping bag.

Was that supposed to read,

"I *don't* think my goal of getting to all the portal tombs this year will be achieved..."

I know very little of these things, but I'd have thought even (the mighty) FW would have a few tombs left on his list.

Do you have any idea what percentage of the total you've covered? I know someone has asked you this before on the Forum, but I wondered how it was going.

Speaking as a soft southerner, I agree with Moth. We're a bunch of wimps compared to those hardy northern types.

S'alright Hob, for 2 reasons:

1. Jane calls herSELF a soft suvverner
2. I'm actually a suvverner too!

I would start to boast, but to be honest, every year I tell the wife "I'm off to spend the night at old Bewick, and you can't stop me".

She doesn't have to, as I get as far as the end of the street before I suddenly decide it would be more profound to be next to a radiator.

Still, one day....

(you get your Geordiecard taken off you if they find out you can't stand the cold)

I've been to 106 of the 170 or so portal tombs.

Hard to say about the rest really. Of all the circles, cairns, standing stones and alignments I'd say I'm about 10% done.
