I read my first William Boyd novel recently, something I've been meaning to do for some time now.
I remember watching and enjoying a TV adaptation of Armadillo some years ago, but after all this time I recalled very little so there was little in the way of self-inflicted spoilers!
To be honest, a novel about loss adjusters probably doesn't scream excitement and after quite a dramatic opening Armadillo then takes a little while to get going, but stay with it because there are lots of interesting strands as Lorimer Black's life goes from one disaster to another and he's at a loss as to who is doing what and...well what exactly is going on!
Very well written, too x
