Have to admit that I was dubious to begin with as he seemed to be a disser of socialism, saying it will never work. His angle is that 'the left' have tried to narrow the problem of inequality - both of income and wealth with little success. No more than the right anyway.
If you look at countries that have less of a problem with inequality for example, ok the Scandinavian countries give the state more of a role via taxes and dispersing the wealth, but Japan manages it through minimal state intervention because there is less income inequality
