Michael Chapman - Fully Qualified Survivor Michael Chapman - Window Bob Dylan - Blonde On Blonde Bob Dylan - The Bootleg Series Vol. 4: Live 1966, The "Royal Albert Hall" Concert Bob Dylan & The Band - The Basement Tapes (+ soniclovenoize 'lost album' reconstructions: 'Big Pink' & 'Songs For Dwarf Music'. The former would have made a slightly lacklustre follow-up to 'Blonde On Blonde' due to a rather tepid stereo mix, but the latter has a punchy mono mix which is far more satisfying http://albumsthatneverwere.blogspot.co.uk/2015/03/bob-dylan-songs-for-dwarf-music.html) The Band - Music From Big Pink The Beatles - Revolver Neu! - Neu! 75 Neu! - Neu! 86 Tim Hardin - Tim Hardin 1 Tim Hardin - Tim Hardin 2 Tim Hardin - Tim Hardin 3: Live In Concert Tim Hardin - Tim Hardin 4 Tim Hardin - This Is Tim Hardin Electric Light Orchestra - Face The Music Electric Light Orchestra - A New World Record Roy Wood - Mustard Roy Wood's Wizzo Band - Super Active Wizzo (these albums are where Roy starts to leave me slightly cold, with too much emphasis on pastiche and jazz fusion, but there is still much to admire) Tom Lehrer - That Was The Year That Was Vangelis - Alexander Vangelis - El Greco OST Bo Hansson - Music Inspired By Lord Of The Rings Love Live Life + One - Love Will Make A Better You Popol Vuh - Affenstunde Popol Vuh - In Den Gärten Pharaos Lilys - In The Presence Of Nothing Lilys - Eccsame The Photon Band (not such a fan of early shoegazing Lilys, but thought I'd give these another go, and this track wouldn't sound out of place on a Flying Saucer Attack LP: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4IEk6qgkRdw&list=PLm2nyjBzm_tfI5tQ-cf06MYVAef_NVVpU&index=7) Fleetwood Mac - Tusk Shinki Chen - Shinki Chen & His Friends Far East Family Band - Parallel World Yonin Bayashi - Ishoku-Sokuhatsu

The Comet is Coming - Channel the Spirits. Happy that this is more electro tinged than I thought. Thought it would be in the vein of Acoustic Ladyland or Melt Yourself Down which I like, but can only deal with so many screaming sax albums Lima - ii. Don't mind this as an entirety actually (I know Spencer was dubious apart from the Amerika track which admittedly probably is the stand out track) Akron/Family - S/T & Meek Warrior. S/T is as close to perfect as most can hope for - Meek Warrior having its moments but less so. Psychedelic freak folk Atlas Sound - Let the blind lead those that can see but cannot feel. Whatev's!It's gone in the bin. Solo project from bloke from Deerhunter who have certainly had their moments. Laurie Anderson - Big Science. Delightfully kooky and arty Acoustic Ladyland - Skinny Grin

This week has mostly been..... Fu Manchu - King of the Road This was the homeward soundtrack from a great day trudging up and down the Malvern Hills yesterday. Perfect blend of stoner rawk riffage, and sabs like heaviosity (guitarwise). I consider this and 'The Action Is Go' the only two FuChu albums you need. Title track and 'Hell On Wheels' are my standouts but the daffy 'Weird Beard' always puts a goofy grin on me chops too. HOW https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_9IR8XwA_9A KOTR https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VvnwTM0ll9Y Pavement - Wowee Zowee These guys were my main squeeze in the 90's, loved just about evetything about em'. But, I gotta say, time hasn't been as kind to them. Put this on t'other day and was left with that slightly 'meh' feeling after playing. The tracks I liked best back then, i still like, but the rest I could take or leave tbh. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dcJ7GpHQT24&list=PLlnyljGQRkcVovZyD1ypWhlELgag_SD8- Wire - Send Got given a DL of the newbie by a pal but have yet to dip in. Probably Wire at their most industrial, interms of sound and execution. If I hadn't witnessed Gotobed drumming like someone possessed at the Barbican all those moons ago, I'd have sworn it was a drum machine on this record. Standouts fer me are still Spent, 99.9, Comet and The Art Of Stopping. Scottish Play https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=czTTX0lLDtI Throbbing Gristle - Heathen Earth This and DoA are probably my fav TG records, though I seem to have acreted a whole bunch more over the years HE - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=If_VHLSvdWs Nice surprise this week, the long pre ordered but forgotten about Cosey Fanni Tutti biog 'Art Sex Music' dropped on me mat, and I've been ripping through it at a pace ever since. Written in a fairly pedestrian fashion from diaries of the time, it's still a fairly engaging read if you're interested in the subject matter. If you have a copy, but are yet to start it, and the early/ formative years of Cosey are of no interest to you, the 'Grist' of TG starts at about Page 184. I always kinda knew Gen was a manipulative, petulant, narcissitic adult/child, but the degree of his piss poor behaviour has to be read to be believed. How such a powerful and strident female could stay in such a, what we would call these days, abusive relationship beggars belief. In terms of the book, I'm amazed that ole Cosey didn't take the opportunity to 'grind the axe' in terms of what went on, but she tells the tale in a pretty (as far as I can tell) honest fashion, warts and all. She does take time to point who the major catalyst was in the formation of TG's sound (and, as we all knew) it was Chris with his knack for building home made synths and effects units, stage props etc. Reading away, all I could think was thank God she found a soulmate in Chris. Someone who respects and treats her like a normal human being, not some sort of vampiric soul suckng battery, as seemed to be the case with Gen. Those culty PTV type goings on were there from quite early on with Gen, and several people way back when noted and warned Cosey about them (though I suppose it was pretty obvious from the whole Manson fixation). Anyways, I could go on all night. If it's your kinda thing, It's a great read, and flips plenty of wigs as to what really went on with TG etc...and doesn't treat it all with undue awe (well she was there of course) like so many other books covering the holy cows of the industrial world. The main thing I've taken away so far, is how 'normal' she/they all were....reader, it could be YOU! Short interview on R4 Womens Hour ... from 29 mins or so http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b08k1b4v Dollkraut - Holy Ghost People Still digging this other worldly, kinda Death In Vanilla lite, album of hauntological-ish reverb drenched vibes. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_HxYRgfdeoc https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=70z13Lno2y4 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JGmWpE1dm-E Underworld - Dubnobasswithmyheadman This is still a stone cold killer of a record. Not played it in far too long, but it's staying in the car for the next few weeks at least. What and opener in Dark and Long! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NwRMLpxjt58&list=PLFq_wo5dibHhCaVxJ9Z-C2IpCZNe63qnI The Doors - The Doors (40th anniversary mixes) Loving this, but not that familiar with the original, so not aware of too many (if any?) of the supposed differences in the mixing. Do like it's apparent rawness though. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rp5rz03XGFE Well, that's about it fer the noo. Keep Well, and enjoy the weather!
