This is a very difficult question, and one that is always changing. I am going to have to answer in 2 ways.

Favorites of Right Now

1. Selda
2. Sly and the Family Stone
3. Tortoise
4. Groundhogs
5. James Brown

These are my favorites of the last month or so but

4. Beatles/Lennon

9. Blur/Radiohead (tie)

11. Elliot Smith

13. Six Finger Satellite

15. Tones on Tail (why oh why break up and give us Love and Rockets!?)
16. Gary Numan/Kraftwerk (tie again)
17. Can
18. Erick Satie (not really a band, I know)
19. Bowie
20. Dead Can Dance
