yeah, it's a pretty sleeve. there are great songs on it. but the LP as a whole is only their best if you're a 'psychedelic purist' aka 'sucker for psychedelia'.
I'm no purist, but if you think you like the LP and you're listening to a stereo copy or a cd, you should really try to hear it the way The Stones intended it to be heard, the way they mixed it, in MONO. It's better that way, and it's still not their best.
and btw, some of you seem to think Brian Jones had a large part in that LP and the plain fact is he hardly showed up for any of those sessions and was too out of it to contribute meaningfully when he did. Bill Wyman had more of a hand in producing that LP than Brian - & Mick & Keith did the lion's share.
