Sep 16, 2006, 02:25
I saw all the UK episodes a few
years back and loved 'em especially
the Christmas finale(S)

When the US version came on
i Hated it !
wached a bout three and wrote it
off as crap, then i happend on
a later episode, Christmas party
i think , and found that one much
funnier, now i watch it regularly.

I saw one US office episode and ruled it off as the script was exactly the same as the UK version - i.e you new what was coming. I also missed the combo of Ricky Gervais & mackenzie crook as they have massive cringe potential between them. I am not so sure what to make of Extras (do you get it in the states?) which is full of real celebs try to debunk themselves...its OK s'pose

Only seen a part of an episode of the US one and it was incredibly shit. And that's me actually being as nice as I can be about it.
Love the UK one though and I really rate Extras too!

I havn't seen
Extra yet, will search around
on the cable listings.

Saw an excerpt of Ricky
doing standup and it
was quite funny, i'd like to
see a full length concert !

What about his early 80's
band Sonoma Dancing (or
something like that) there
are clips on YouTube .

Did he release a single
of Free Love Freeway ?

Haven't seen the US version yet so I couldn't say but the UK show was one of the best shows in recent memory (that and Curb Your Enthusiasm of course). The few episodes of Extras that I've seen were hilarious.

I believe there might be an Oasis cover of "Free Love Freeway" as a fairly recent b-side sanctioned by Ricky Gervais.

Haven't seen the UK version. Have seen a few US episodes. It's chuckle-funny, but I haven't felt compelled to particulary care if I miss it or not.

I liked the first series of Extras a lot. Watched the first episode of series two over the weekend. Hmmmm. Clunkier. Something very laboured about it this time round, IMO.

Ashley Jensen's still got the cutest smile on telly, though. Apparently I met her loads back around 1990. Don't remember her at all. "She used to hang about with that Irish girl..." I remembered her.
