Your uncle was so important to the sixties and everything that came after it, and to all my friends.
My own best friend Peter Cummings, who I knew most of my life, from childhood, was also a musical prodigy, but also suffered, and withdrew from the world. He died right after the Tsunami in Indonesia, of heart failure brought on by scleroderma.
What is immortal about him, and your uncle, is that they created beautiful music that lives on.
I know and share how you must feel... sadness, but a sort of triumph in having known and loved such a talent who brought a deeply felt artistry to us all.
