I'm not being funny but I find I'm your Daddy a strange choice. Perhaps I need to listen to it again!

"I Second That Emotion"/"Tears Of A Clown" - Smokey Robinson & The Miracles. "Heroes" - David Bowie "As The World Turns" - Bryan Ferry okay I know, it's four, but the two Smokey ones are inseparable really, plus, there loads of others I could pick, but they just came off the top of the ol' noggin'. It's strange, in the past, just after it's all been finished between myself and a girlie (okay then, even six months after the event- Ha!), even the most bland 'love song' rips me insides out! Probably why I own more than 50 Throbbing Gristle CDs !! They've always stopped my mind from turning into slush =8-I

Top of your list would have been top of mine too ( that's gotta be one of the greatest singles ever ) , otherwise, these 2 sprang to mind... Todd Rundgren - I Think You Know John Martyn - Head And Heart Both of which are guaranteed to bring a lump to my throat ( and a tear to the eye if I'm feeling particularly soppy ) Er, soppy = sentimentally drunk.

Ha! Another couple of glasses of vino and I'll be in just the right frame of mind for some mushy stuff. John Martyn makes for perfect late night listening anyway so reckon Bless The Weather will be my lullaby CD tonight. Hope I don't get tears on my pilllow !

Well, even though it's sexist and time-locked in the extreme, I have to be predictable and place 'Fitter Stoke Has A Bath' at number 1. What greater love than that which states "and just the same, I'm happy just to sit around at home, with Pamela making cups of tea and washing clothes" after confessing "Thank you ladies you had us all" whilst on tour? Yes, there once was a time when one could have one's cake and eat it too. And sticking with the Canterbury vibe, Caravan's wonderful 'Surprise Surprise' would have to be at number three, behind Robert Wyatt's perfect 'Signed Curtain'. Now let's see some boyband have a crack at THOSE.
