Incredible new reissue (on Alternative Tentacles?!) many of you will find interesting: ZOLAR X! http://www.alternativetentacles.com/bandinfo.php?band=zolarx http://www.geocities.com/zolarx1/ "“After hearing the album, I thought, wow, this is the missing link between Chrome and The Stooges…" -- Jello Biafra (Seems like a Kim Fowley connection in there somewhere too . . . )

btw I just got my copy, listening right now -- yes it's as cool as it looks! The guitarist is the real deal. Von Lmo watch out!

those pictures (2nd link) are a hoot! rockin' the longhorn danelectro bass, wearin' a watch with the alien spacesuit getup, big ears! (didn't wear those on stage!) i hope they sound better than von lame-o (future language lp i used to have -was $2 back then-was pretty horrible imo)

Zolar X is surprisingly much more "professional" sounding than Von Lmo -- back in the day someone called them "Pink Floyd meets Black Sabbath" but I say they sound more like "Pink Fairies crossed with Rush" (and maybe just a hint of Gong -- outta control echoplexing ya know.) I really don't see the Stooges comparison (or Chrome either for that matter) though the glam quotient is pretty high as well. And they wrote a 20 minute prog opus called "Plutonian Elf Story" -- who wouldn't want to hear something like that?

Thyis band get mentioned quite a bit in the early chapters of We Got The Neutron Bomb, the LA punk book. Wouldn't mind checking them out. I just saw word elsewhere about a film about Rodney Biggenheimer the 'Mayor of Sunset Strip'. Famous petite dj who played a lot of brit punk as it was breaking and a lot of glam before that. I think Zolar X played his club regularly or something Stevo Np Savage Republic Land of Delusion

nobody posted this, which I linked into from their site http://www.angelfire.com/vt2/70sinvasion/zolar_X.html looks like it's from an interesting but poorly layed out site. Stevo
