yup... just imagine if the Throbbing Gristle records had all listed P-Orridge & Cosey Fanni Tutti as "Neil Andrew Megson & Christine Carol Newby"....not quite as avant garde. Apparently he was nicknamed "Genesis" as a schoolboy and "Porridge" from living on it every day as a pennieless dropout in his earliest COUM days. I didn't know until reading WOC that he's actually been officially titled Genesis P-Orridge by deed poll ever since 1971.
