Here Come The Personnel Comments
Dec 06, 2000, 23:09
Enjoyed your "Here Come The Warm Jets" review. I agree with you on almost every point: A truly fantastic album from a fantastic year in music, but it is in only the most friendly way possible I must voice the following corrections regarding personnel:

Phil Collins, Morris Pert & John Cale did not appear on "Jets".
I'm sure you transposed Collins' appearances on "Taking Tiger Mountain", "Another Green World", "Before And After Science" and "Music For Films", Cale also appearing on most of these albums as well. And as for Morris Pert, he isn't on "Jets", either, but probably lurks somewhere on "Before And After Science", or something.

Regarding the incredible, extended guitar solo on "Baby's On Fire", I realise Fripp is credited with guitar on that track--but so is Paul Rudolph. And it was that ex-Pink Fairies' guitarist who contributed that shredding solo (Fripp's guitar relegated to that low, lurching noise that runs throughout it).

The Eno/Rudolph connection was forged during sessions for Robert Calvert's "Captain Lockheed" album, so no surprise as to Simon King's presence on the title track alongside Rudolph.

Wouldn't mention it if Rudolph wasn't so criminally underrated.

Looking forward to your next review, man
