Numpty is often used in the NorthWest (Oldham esp.) to denote a kind of local scally type, a bit short on the gray matter type of thing
Lummox. Didn't know that was Scottish cos it always used to turn up in the American comics i.e in the Fantastic Four the Human Torch would yell at the Thing "Hey, get outta the way ya big lummox!"
