Some thoughts on the new site & other stuff…
Well, it’s over a week since the new site has been launched, and all the feedback we have received so far has been extremely positive — with many pats on the back to Chris, our intrepid Webmaster. A few observations: it appears that some folks feel a bit shy about submitting their thoughts to Unsung, the Modern Antiquarian and Ur Pagan pages. We’ve received dozens of emails with ideas — and they are all good ones. So, please do contribute — over time, I am sure that these pages will contain a wealth of information and ideas that really can’t be found in too many other places. The other comment we have received more than once is that the Head to Head forum is in direct “competition” with Rail On. Truly, that is not our intention. It was established in response to the amount of emails we receive, and those that we are unable to answer… we felt that there was a place within the Head Heritage site for our visitors to come together. We totally support Rail On, and often direct people there when we can’t help with particular problems/requests/etc.
Regarding the Ur-Pagan pages, Merrick has broken his leg rather badly and is out of action for a while. I think once he is back on his feet again he will really get this area of the site working brilliantly. He is always full of exciting ideas, and in touch with the right people to make the news, features and links important and relevant.
Get well soon, Merrick!
Competition news: We’ve had so many responses to this! I’m not going to say if we have a winner yet, as this question remains until 15 April…
Regarding Cornucopea, as most of you will know, the first date is sold out. I truly wish I could help those without tickets, but I can’t — so please don’t email asking for either tickets or guest list.
The free CD/programme is available for both nights, one per festival-goer (but if you are going both nights, yes, that means you are entitled to two!). It looks and sounds amazing — the best freebie I ever did see!
There will be a Head Heritage merchandise stall, but unfortunately Floored Genius 3 will not be ready in time. Julian has been so busy organising Cornucopea, and has had to struggle to find the time to put the CD together. We are expecting FG3 to be delivered to us by mid-April, and you will be able to order securely online as soon as we get them (or through the new Kakalog, which will be avaialbe at Cornucopea). More news on FG3 coming soon…
We’ve received many questions about Brain Donor… who are they? what do they sound like? have they been recording? It’s Julian, Doggen and Kev — a power trio if ever there was one. Yes they have been doing some recording (and lots of rehearsing). What do they sound like? I don’t want to give away too much before next Saturday, but I can assure you that they are fantastic. It is some of the most exciting music I have heard from Julian (or anyone!) for ages…
And folks are also wondering what to expect from Queen Elizabeth…as always when Julian and Thighpaulsandra get together, I think you can safely expect it to be seriously cosmic, and seriously Glam.
