HH Site Nominated for Award
I am very pleased and proud to announce that the Head Heritage site has been nominated and shortlisted for Music Week’s Online Music Awards “Best Rock Artist Website”. The other nominations in this category are: Pete Townshend, Travis, Crashland and Supergrass. Well, I’ve seen the competition and, without sounding too smug, there is no competition! Julian and all of us at Head Heritage are absolutely thrilled about this nomination, and we cannot give enough credit and thanks to our most Righteous and Talented Webmaster, the one and only Chris McGrail. It is no surprise that Chris and his company, Kleber, are the designers of several of the nominated sites in various categories. In fact, Kleber is responsible for so many of the nominations that they should have their own category!
I gather that the winner is chosen by a panel of judges, as well as by public votes. You can find out more information about the awards, and vote (!), at the Online Music Awards website: http://www.ukonlinemusicawards.com.
For a non-Industry organisation such as Head Heritage, this really is a coup. Looking at the list of nominations throughout all the categories, we stand alone as Independents of the Industry. I can’t help but wonder if this will work for or against us…?
Once again, I thank all of our visitors for helping to make this site such an interactive Heads Paradise. And our heartfelt thanks and respect to thee Man, Webmaster Chris: a visionary who is the best at what he does and is fun and easy to work with.
The Awards will be announced on 23 November 2000. I hope you will wish us luck and cast your vote – it really would be something special for us to win it.
Love from JoAnne
