My relationship to the Godz begins with the (famous?) Lester Bangs article "Do the Godz Speak Esperanto." After reading the article I searched for both of the albums mentioned, but was unable to find either in any stores in Chicago. I proceeded to download Contact High which is the only one I could find. I had the same reaction to it as Lugia, astoundingly good and bad, but best of all memorable. Godz Two I ended up finding a year later in a record store in NY. This album is, as Lester had promised. a huge step forward for the Godz as far as musicianship, but in no way does that stop them from making some of the most blissful racket I have ever heard. This album adds electric guitar on a few tracks and really benefits from a better production, but the sound is basically the same as Contact High, and it is a sound that only Godz can make.

"Radar Eyes" opens the album. A fierce stomper with droning guitars that wouldn't sound out of place on the Nuggets compilation.

"Riffin" is the complete opposite. A mess of a track similar in the vein of "parrable of arrable" era Red Krayola. Noise! Beautiful Noise! There is a part towards the end of the track that I will not discuss, one has to hear it and decide for themselves.

"Where" sounds like a track off of Contact High. Chaos and annoying vocals that you might find yourself chanting along too.

"New Song" is one of the most unlistenble "songs" ever created. At 1:47 seconds it is much harder to listen to than 20 minutes of screaching feedback. But the Godz dont care they know its shit and they love it.

"Squeak" is redone on this album. Its a bit longer and a lot better! One stoned jam it is, one stoned jam indeedidily.

"Soon the Moon" is another stomper in the vein of Radar Eyes. Droning guitars... the banging of piano at the peak is cool.

"Crusade" is the epic of the album. Like the rest of the album chaos! Uh oh are the boys smoking refer!?! Well the over-exagerated pull and cough would lead you to believe so. I love this band. "its all a dream, you're not here..." Later the godz seem to be looking for acid, "Who's got it? I'll try it!" and then the song shifts into a more traditional form and ends that way.

"You Wont See Me" is so funny... they "fuck up" about half-way thru and bust into an ANNOYING skit. This version puts the lyrics right in front which is interesting because it shows how weak they actually are.

"Travelin' Salesman" is another actual song with funny lyrics. In fact it is the most traditional song on the album.

"Permanent Green Light" ends the album creepily with a quieter Radar Eyesesque track that seems to hover over you. Total lyrics being "permanent green light means you can go on forever."

This album is so awesome my review does it no justice at all. A better review is obviously the Lester Bangs review in "Psychotic Reactions and Carburetor Dung" but it also does the album no justice. If you like things such as "parrable of arrable" era Red Krayola or newer stuff like Sunburned Hand of the Man then you might dig this. Its more annoying than either of those, but the more you listen the more you love.
