Excellent album, too bad they broke up last year. Check out High On Fire- The Art of Self Defense and Sleep- Jerusalem. See High On Fire live if you can.

There's some debate as to whether they split up or not - the drummer says yes, the singer says no, various abusive messages have been posted to each other in the guestbook at their website ("delete THIS you c**ts!!!" and so on), I think they were playing just before Xmas with the drummer from Iron Monkey, so who knows?

My friend who seems to have been in contact with the band from pretty early on said that the band had lost their drummer. Hence my coment in the last soundtrack thing I wrote.
I hope that's true since I've just been getting into them.
I take it that Dopethrone is the apex of that particular style they were playing. long sludge tracks.
My friend said thaty he found Let Us Prey to be the greatest disappointment of last year. Since it was the first thing I had by them and reminds me of Gravitar I've got a different take.

For those who enjoyed the mighty DOPETHRONE, I recommend the ultimate Zeuhl experience, "Les Morts vont Vite" (1986), by the french band Shub Niggurath.
