the funniest thing i ever came across was chechian/german singer Karel Gott doing a German cover of the stones' paint it black (on his first album back in 1972 - the rest of the tracks is NOT recommended)

by the way: check out Robert Plant's version of Hey Joe on his latest album "Dreamland". Think it's the only way to do that stuff...

Has anyone mentioned Telly Savalas doing 'if a picture paints a thousand words'?

Got a Peel session of theirs on tape somewhere. Used to play it over and over when I was reading 'Gormenghast', many years ago. It seemed the perfect soundtrack.

Looking for "Roy Harper" at Kazaa, and found that the This Mortal Coil song "Another Day" is in fact a R H cover! I look forward to hearing the original with some interest. Anyone know what album it's from? I'd love to get hold of the actual CD.

I work with this really shy bloke at work. I got talking about music to him, and it turned out that he was into unsung blues stuff like Tony McPhee. I recommended Roy Harper to him, and he went out and got "Jugula" which he thought was excellent. He's lent it to me and I love "nineteen eighty fourish"
