Caught up with it last night, enjoyed it for the most part, and mirroring other folks views, was a nice diversion down memory lane. I came to it in the 80's, so paricularly enjoyed Bauhaus on the show as I recall. Also remember those mammoth New Years eve programmes where it was on for several hours, usually with The Doors live concert thrown in somewhere.
I'd love it if BBC 4 did the TOTP rerun thing with OGWT, the archive would put modern 'live' music on tele to shame. Ditto those 'In Concert' performances (where you could tune in on the VHF/FM radio to get the full stereo experience if you were so inclined).

Yes, I enjoyed those in concert gigs. I remember doing a decent quality tape of the stranglers at Nottingham

Think I taped a Simple Minds one from around the time of New Gold Dream, and a Bunnymen one from around Ocean Rain, plus a quite few others that I forget.
Was looking online for an 'episode' guide, but other than the odd mention here and there, and a few notables on the BBC webpage, sadly no luck. I know BBC6 have live hour most days with gigs from either TV or BBC radio so always worth a butchers to see what they have coming up. Faces live 71 and PJ Jarvey John Wesley Harding (sesions) on Friday, 2.30pm-3.30pm

I was a bit too young for its Seventies heyday but have fond memories of the show stoking my nascent interest in Robert Wyatt and Robyn Hitchcock through their live sets in the early-mid Eighties. And the Only Ones appearances are my favourite footage of Mr Perrett and co.

Fond memories of what may have been my initiation to OGWT was the Damned trashing the place playing I Just Can't Be Happy Today. Was too young for the pre Annie Nightingale times.
