The new MOJO magazine reports a possible 17CD Julian Cope box set of Island Records material and a 9 disc Teardrop Explodes box set being put together for 2018.....
Anyone know any more ?

I can't even imagine what these would contain to have so many CDs for, what, four Island albums for JC and three LPs for the Teardrops? Even with all singles and B-Sides, there's still a lot of leftover space. Radio Sessions? Live stuff? Demos? If true, I sure can't wait to see tracklists...

I've got some Cope demos from the Peggy Suicide era - whether JC has them or not is another matter! I did try to volunteer them during that reissie - I tweeted Dorian to offer them up this time! We'll see. Superior versions of Hanging Out.. and Drive She Said. If you stumble upon those on the internet, they've come from my tapes!

I could see a nine disc Teardrops Boxset easily being edited down from the 2 original album sets (in their expanded forms), B-sides, Zoo/ Piano stuff, at least two UK and two US FM broadcasts, Peel Sessions, some of the Zoology overlaps, original 3rd album mixes and the later versions and whatever else is lying at the back of the drawer and it could well include a disc or two of vids, concert footage, OGWT, TOTPs etc etc.
But don't we all already pretty much have all that? Those of us that wanted ALL of that?
