Standing out this week were...
Head of David - White Elephant. Wonderful band that stood out like a sore thumb at the time. Woulda/coulda been the start of the NWONWOBHM. Birmingham band. Imagine Judas Priest with insane abstract sound sculpturing KK Downing as the sole guitarist and an almost Jim Morrison style crooner as the singer... ish. I've promised to stick a review on the (now-sadly-neglected) Unsung section here, so I'd better leave something to say . Their first album genuinely changed my life. Very odd. Listen to this, A scorched earth Mamas and Papas song, for these end times that the global consciousness seems to be willing into existence.

Johnny Jenkins - Ton Ton Macoute! Gosh. This is good. 1970. His backing band later abandoned him and became the Allman Brothers. They honestly never hit these heights on their own. Nobody told me! This is so, so good! Straight-up. Spoken with the zeal of someone who only came across it yesterday admittedly. However, listen to this and tell me I'm wrong...
