I've just heard that Hawkwind's original audio manipulator has passed away. He was an innovator in a time when equipment for creating such noises couldn't be bought off the shelf. His contributions changed how Band X were received. http://www.hawkwindmuseum.co.uk/mini.htm

Fuck. RIP indeed. Very sad news. I love the bit on the Hawkwind doc where Lemmy describes the effects of the audio generator going beyond certain sonic ranges on the audience. "Dik Mik would come over and say - 'see the guy with the blonde hair', blelrplrplrplrp, down he'd go!"
