Radiohead - A Moon Shaped Pool. One of their stronger releases in recent years methinks. But then they haven't done too badly in the last 10 years or so.

Randy Newman - Dark Matter, Sail Away and Good Old Boys. Preference probably in that order with DM being out this year. He's still got it amidst his soundtrack work.

Rolling Stones - Aftermath & Beggars Banquet

Trad Gras Och Stenar - Miss Peapods 2010

Danny Schmidt - NO.8 Cafe Launceston 2017

Spectres - Mono 2017. I remember coming out of that gig with hearing impairment and there is quite the wall of noise on this recording.

Six Organs of Admittance - Miss Peapods 2011

This week has mostly been 'The Cope Less Travelled'. Thought I'd dig out all those Cope releases that don't get as much attention, and I gotta say, I kinda enjoyed it.

Cope .... An Audience With, Jehovahcoat Demos, Queen Elizabeth, Christ Vs Warhol, Black Sheep, Kiss My Sweet Apocalypse, Followers Of.., Vesuvio, Rite 2
Discover Odin

Dope - Geurilla Grow/ Cassette
Gotta say, the album Geurilla Grow has really been buffing me chuddies this week, perfect tunes fer headspace, out and about in nature near the noisier end of town. The cassette isn't as good as the album, but from the halfway point of The Dee Dee Ramone story, it could be an out-take from those Peggy era jams. If you've not heard the tape, it's up on you-twat...

Cope - Jehovahkill, Peggy, Autogeddon

Primitive Knot - Sub Temple Ov...

Can - The Singles

Think that's about all I can recall. Coil's Timemachines album/CD get a long overdue re-issue this week, woohoo, can replace my very tired old CD fer affordable money, not the daft requests up on Discogs etc....

Have a better One!!

P.S., anyone know whats up with Squid Tempest, not seen him around these here parts fer a while, he is OK isn't he ?

Been in the Lake District getting wet this week, so this is mostly random stuff on the iPod while reading/drying off at night…

Gregg Kowalsky – L’Orange L’Orange. Actually, this is a new thing, pleasant drifty ambient stuff, more a falling-asleep-in-the-bath experience than soundtrack to transcendental revelation. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dkugbd-StsQ

Pye Corner Audio – The Black Mill Tapes vols 1 & 2. Early PCA, when everything sounded like it had been recorded on a fifth generation VHS tape. Love this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QEoERbW0lF0

Rhyton – Kykeon. Slightly ramshackle but nice eastern-flavoured NY psych from a few years ago. https://rhyton.bandcamp.com/album/kykeon

Shadowy Men On A Shadowy Planet – Savvy Show Stoppers. I wasn’t a devoted fan of John Peel (more a Thomas the Vance guy myself), but this is one band he definitely introduced me to. The first and best of the instro surf rock revivalists, love this album: https://shadowymenonashadowyplanet.bandcamp.com/track/zombie-compromise-2

The Stargazer’s Assistant – Remoteness Of Light. Drummer from Guapo’s dronic side project, lots of percussion and wailing horns in the background: https://houseofmythology.bandcamp.com/track/world-of-amphibia

And the reading material throughout was the fantastic Scarred For Life: the 1970s. If you have any interest in the weirder/scarier side of popular culture from the Greatest Decade Ever, buy this book: http://www.independent.co.uk/news/long_reads/scarred-for-life-how-the-pop-culture-of-the-1970s-had-such-a-lasting-effect-on-children-a7757446.html
