Cabaret Voltaire - Mix Up/Voice Of America/Live YMCA/Methodology Been listening to loads of early Cabs this week, guess the whole nuclear paranioa kicked up by our overlords reminded me of the vibes back in 83', when our library teacher at school had us so convinced that it was gonna go down big that in the school holidays that we built a fall out shelter. Trouble was, we didn't really think it through, and managed to build it into a vast railway embankment about a 1/4 mile from Elmdon Airport...Doh! Tarwater - Animals Suns and Atoms, Spider Smile/Needle Was Travelling Been trying to put together a 2 CD best of for my own entertainment for our upcoming hols. Trouble is, I love just about everything by the skewed pop geniuses, so not making much headway. Maybe I'll just take all the albums, and go from there. Bowie - Scary Monsters Played this a LOT this week after not playing it for some time. Damn, that is a great record, probably his best of the 80's. Dope - Guerilla Grow Dubby last track on this is the best fer me, but I enjoyed most of it really. Jane Weaver - Modern Kosmology This is really good. Lots of Stereolab, Broadcast, Cate Le Bon esque influences, but yeah, it works. By a weird coincidence, Laetitia Sadiers newbie band is also called Modern Cosmology....must be something in the air. https://www.piccadillyrecords.com/counter/product.php?pid=116230 Circle - Soundcheck Nice mix of quieter moments and that trademark Circle 'Locked In' vibe. Dead Combo Suicide meets the Stooges, in a good way. Have A Good Week.

Surprised they haven't had more recognition. Have you got Musique Originale Du Film Donne-moi La Main? I only bought it recently but it's fab!

Julian Cope - Trip Advizer. Enjoyed this far more than I thought I would considering the time period chosen from which doesn't seem to me to be that fertile ground. Detected a few different arrangements which certainly improved songs I'd passed on like Living in a room. Coldcut/On u sound - Outside the echo chamber. Sounds promising on first listen. Bomb the Bass - Beat Dis best of Budgie - S/T Chris Forsyth & The Solar Motel Band - The Rarity of Experience. Primed to listen to this ahead of the sea change festival appearance Circle - Terminal Chris Issak - Silvertone. Didn't do much for me. Not as good as the S/T album a few years later. The Verve - Urban Hymns, Forth. Still enjoy listening to the former, whilst the latter isn't unlistenable if not a little mediocre Denis Wilson - Pacific Ocean Blue The Wake - Harmony + singles and Peel session. I will still go back to this. Verma - Salted Earth Chad Vangaalen - Soft Aeroplanes. One of my fav listens of the week from a sensitive soul.

Is that the animated movie? If so, I was aware of it, but I've not picked that one up, as soundtrack stuff can be a different beast to albums proper. I bought a couple of those Gustaff records reissues a few years ago with extra tracks, there's other soundtrack work on the 'Dwellers on the Threshold' disc, think it's to a short film called 'Die Datsche'. Cheers for the tip off, will track that one down and give it a spin. This is another very Tarwater like album from 2013, has both Jestram And Lippock on board. https://www.discogs.com/Krohn-Jestram-Lippok-Dear-Mister-Singing-Club/release/9028060

I enjoyed that one too, though the vocal on track four didn't seem to fit with the rest of the record for me. Love the Opener.... 'Vitals feat.
