I'm reckoning Cosmic Travellers Live at The Spring Crater Celebration Diamond Head Oahu, Hawaii 1972 and the first (Stephen Gaskin) The Farm Band double album are pretty out there as well.

"Tasting the Life - Live 1971" by Mighty Baby (spawned from North London mod soul/rock band the Action, but sounding very different despite containing five of the same members).

If it's a bit of 'heaviosity' yer after, can I suggest a couple of albums by the The Heads. 'Under The Stress Of a Headlong Dive', and 'At Last', two recorded in the studio/rehearsal tapes that just never let up (plus have some nice Hawkwindy/space elements to boot). The Heads - Creating in the Eternal Now is Always Heavy.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-HCmzJiDt1U (follow other youtube links to other tracks on the record) Heads - At Last (Tropo Ampo) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5PLo0XCJmWg In a similar vein - Brain Donor CD 'Studio and Live' has some nice moments. Finish band Circle have a coupla great live recordings Raunio - https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=Circle+-+Raunio (when Copey was having a clear out a few years back, happened to score his copy of this). Other live goodies include....Circle - Mountain/Telescope/Soundcheck and the two more 'metal'live albums 6000KMH parts 1 and 2 U.S. Stoner/Skaters Fu Manchu's album 'Go For it....Live' is a groovy/heavy riff test from start to finish.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PWq_Lqy4rCc&list=PL351C344DA475682D White Manna - 'Live Frequencies' has some nice moments.. Acid Head (Live) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BTp3x6ZXmXE And if you're feeling a bit angsty and Grrrrr, Husker Du's 'Land Speed Record' will blow yer whiskers off with it's brevity, aggression and speed. LSR - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g3MehtgiKnY Sunburned Hand Of Man seem to only (well at one time) release live jams of one kind or another, and a couple of the Acid Mothers Temple live albums are ultra riff-tastic too.... and there is a huge selection of gigs on youtube too... https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=acid+mothers+temple+live+in+japan

Stevo wrote: ... Last Exit Iron path the band's one studio lp. Very visceral psychedelic instrumental stuff. It was reissued on ESP a couple of years back and is pretty essential. A stroke of genius to put Sharrock and Brötzmann in a band. Easily in my top 3 live acts. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b2t1MKBvF28

I know Clapton is kind of a persona non grata here, but fuck it, his coke-driven bluesrock noodling on Live Cream 1+2 fits the bill. :)

What am I missing out on? https://beyondcaptainorca.bandcamp.com honorable Jack Endino on lead guitar, no actual songs just the noodly elongated stuff, distinct Pink Fairies influence on the Captain Foss episode... (full disclosure I'm on bass). For something like this but with songs, check out MKB ULTRA tracks 4, 6, 8, 10: https://miakatherineboyle.bandcamp.com/album/mkb-ultra Hmm, I'm in another group that does something similar called Astrol Waters, one album out & more coming soon including a radio broadcast on Sonarchy KEXP: http://cosmicdigital.cosmicprimitive.com/album/astrol-waters this track from Walking Faces may suit: http://cosmicdigital.cosmicprimitive.com/track/theresa-lefteye-in-my-case & if you want something slightly freejazzier, check out GORPLORD from NYC: http://cosmicdigital.cosmicprimitive.com/album/hootenanny otherwise: I'm partial to Jimi at Woodstock & Band Of Gypsys Set One (released as Machine Gun i believe)... Dick's Picks 1-14 are all pretty decent for The Dead (aim for longer jams & medleys). Santana Lotus. Six Organs Of Admittance 'Ascent'. If you can stand Phish I would point you to the "Tahoe Tweezer", any recent "Ghost", anything over ten minutes... (there's a site that archives every. single. show. I think I recall 2013 being a good year.) Acid Mothers Temple obvs has some good elongated things, Dark Star Blues or Pink Lady Lemonade are usually good bets.
